Cutting Tongues
My first collection of poems chosen from my many performances over the years. Scroll across the arrows below for a small taste.
Sour
1. An adjective used to describe someone who is visually disturbing, ugly, and/or nasty.
origin: at the site of a "sour" person, you make a "sour" face, as such when you suck a lemon.
2. When used to describe something crazy or out of the ordinary.
3. To be discontented, irritated, to have an attitude, Overly cynical or bitter.
sweet
1. Something that is awesome
2. Used to express satisfaction, acceptance, pleasure, excellence, exaltation, approval, awe, or reverence. When used individually, the level of satisfaction expressed is most often directly proportionate to the duration of the vowel sound.
Bitter
1.
To be perpetually pissed off.
He's so bitter all the damn time.
3. Expression of being in a bad mood over a relatively minor incident, often resulting after a series of minor bad events over the course of a certain period of time
Sarcastic
1. Sarcastic
an adjective, describing a type of humor. People who are sarcastic usually annoy the hell out of everyone who cant get their jokes. They also piss people off by going too far and accidentaly offending them.
SarcasticIronic: Oh SURE, because we all know how UNIQUE and SINGULAR you are!
2.
Not many people understand sarcastic people, because we are too smart to be understood. Oh, com'n be honest! But we really love you!!! We do, I'm not being sarcastic!
3.
Saying the exact opposite of what you really mean, to show emphasis.
4.
The act of being syrupy sweet and condescending to someone that is extrememly pissed off, usually resulting in the person getting even more pissed off. Useful when working in retail.
5.
Having a "smart mouth," and people with this trait are called a smart alleck. One of the most annoying personality traits a person can have. They often think their comments are funny but are actually designed to innocently make you feel stupid. People with heavy amounts of sarcasm are viewed as arrogant and stuck up.
Romantic
A romantic is a person who believes in romanticism, which is like a philosophy on life. Romantics love nature, old things like castles and churches, love poetry and beauty, and have a tendency to get carried away by ideas. This can be both bad and good, as most of the original romantics stood up for their beliefs and greatly helped England, but also went to help people in revolutions and got killed. They also tend to get randomly depressed, but this is because the weather and colors and beatiful things make them act differently than others.
Ironic
1. A situation where the result is a complete reverse (and practical mockery) of what was expected
2. A word heavy misused and abused in conversation today, mostly by people who think that using the word in any way will automatically make them seem intelligent. The word is usually misused to exactly mean "coincidental" or "tragic", when again it doesn't mean this (see #1)
If the heavy metal band Anthrax dies of anthrax, that would be poetically tragic, but not ironic. If a diabetic crosses the street and is run over by a truck carrying insulin, then it's ironic.
